How do Attio's compound attributes land?

As NVARCHAR(MAX). Arrays, objects and anything Polytomic cannot type confidently use the MAX variant rather than being expanded into separate columns, so a multiselect or a compound attribute arrives intact as serialized text. Ordinary scalar strings get NVARCHAR(4000) instead, which is a much smaller ceiling.

Can I query into those values?

With T-SQL's JSON functions, yes, provided the content is valid JSON. It is not a native JSON column type the way some destinations offer, so treat it as text you parse in a view rather than a structured column you can index directly.

What can I sync from Attio?

Accepted Answer

People, companies, deals, users, workspaces and any custom objects, plus their lists. Notes, meetings and call recordings are source only, which is a limitation on the Attio side rather than anything to do with Azure SQL.

How do booleans and timestamps arrive?

Accepted Answer

Booleans as BIT, holding one or zero rather than true and false. Timestamps as DATETIMEOFFSET, so the offset travels with the value rather than being normalised away on the way in.

Does the table get rebuilt when Attio changes?

Accepted Answer

Not automatically. New columns are added as they appear. An incompatible type change renames the old column to an archival name and adds a replacement alongside it, and a rebuild is what actually replaces the table cleanly if you would rather not accumulate archived columns.
