What HubSpot data can I load into ClickHouse?

The CRM objects covering companies, contacts, deals, line items, products, tickets, meetings, calls, emails, notes, tasks, invoices, owners and custom objects. Around those sit property histories, associations, engagements, forms and submissions, lists and memberships, pipelines, marketing events, email events and campaigns, workflows and subscription changes. Custom properties are discovered as they appear and association labels come through as fields.

What happens when a HubSpot property changes type?

The existing column is renamed to a deterministic archive name carrying its old type, then a new column with the original name and new type is created beside it. Nothing breaks and no history is lost. New properties are added with ALTER TABLE ADD COLUMN IF NOT EXISTS. A property deleted in HubSpot is not removed from ClickHouse, so old columns linger until a rebuild clears them, which is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight.

How does Polytomic keep HubSpot current?

For the main CRM objects the HubSpot search API finds records changed since the last run by last modified date, then a batch read collects full properties and associations for those records. Those are written as Parquet, staged in your cloud storage, loaded into a temporary table and inserted into the target. The first load uses the list API instead, since there is nothing to compare against yet.

Are deleted HubSpot records removed?

Accepted Answer

Not by incremental runs, and it is worth designing around early. The HubSpot incremental API does not report deletions, so a record removed in HubSpot will not be flagged by a normal run no matter what the warehouse supports. Full refresh mode or periodic full resyncs are how reconciliation happens. A few entity types expose an archived or deleted timestamp, but that is not general delete tracking across the CRM.

Why load CRM data into ClickHouse?

Because it is rarely the whole picture, and ClickHouse is usually already holding the other half. Teams stand it up for product events or high volume behavioural data, then want deals and companies beside those events so a funnel can be built in one place. ETL into a data warehouse is how the CRM gets there, and the history it accumulates answers questions HubSpot cannot, since nothing in the CRM records what a deal was worth last quarter.
