How do I get a nested document into a flat CRM record?

With an aggregation pipeline in the model. Attio expects one row per person or company with its attributes resolved, and a MongoDB document usually carries nested structure that has to be flattened somewhere. Doing it in the pipeline keeps the work on the cluster rather than spreading it across field mappings.

Which Attio objects can a document write to?

Every object the workspace API exposes: people, companies, deals, users, workspaces and any custom objects, plus their lists. Writability follows Attio's own metadata and your OAuth permissions. Notes, meetings and call recordings are source only and cannot be written to.

Why does my multiselect keep accumulating values?

Multiselects append by default. Enable treat multiselect values as replacements if you want a write to overwrite instead, which is also the only way to clear one. It usually surfaces a few runs in, once the accumulated values start looking obviously wrong.

Does an absent field clear the Attio value?

Accepted Answer

Not unless you enable copy null values. That distinction matters more with MongoDB than with a relational source, because a field simply absent from a document is indistinguishable from an explicitly empty one by the time it reaches the mapping, so think about which of those two your documents actually mean.

What does the connection need?

A read only MongoDB account able to list databases and collections and run find and aggregate. Atlas and self hosted use the same connector: Atlas takes the SRV hostname with SRV enabled, self hosted takes standard hosts with it off. There is no field for pasting a whole connection URI, and no SSH tunnel option on this connector, so IP allowlisting is how you open the path.
