Which Attio objects accept writes from MySQL?

Accepted Answer

Every object the workspace API exposes: people, companies, deals, users, workspaces and any custom objects, plus their lists. Writability follows Attio's own metadata and your OAuth permissions. Notes, meetings and call recordings are source only and cannot be written to.

Why does my multiselect keep accumulating values?

Accepted Answer

Multiselects append by default. Enable treat multiselect values as replacements if you want the write to overwrite instead, which is also the only way to clear one. It tends to surface a few runs in rather than immediately, once the accumulated values start looking wrong.

How do I keep each run cheap on a busy table?

Accepted Answer

Set a tracking column. Without one the model is read and compared field by field against prior state on every run, which on a high write MySQL table is the expensive path. With a monotonically increasing column such as updated_at, that comparison is bypassed entirely and the query only asks for rows that moved. Matching into Attio is separate, on record ID, list entry ID, or an eligible writable attribute.

Does an empty MySQL column clear the Attio field?

Accepted Answer

Not unless you enable copy null values. The default exists to stop an empty column in MySQL wiping a field somebody filled in by hand in Attio. Turn it on only for attributes where your database is genuinely the system of record and an empty value means something.

Should the model be a table or a query?

Accepted Answer

A query, more often than people expect. Attio wants one row per person or company with the attributes already computed, which usually means joining a few MySQL tables and aggregating first. Views work as well, but reach them through SQL query mode, since views are deliberately kept out of the table picker.
