What can I sync from Affinity?

People and organizations, every person, organization and opportunity list as its own table, notes, and then calls, emails and meetings. There is deliberately no standalone opportunity source. Opportunities come through their lists, which is worth knowing before you go looking for one.

Does it read everything every run?

Accepted Answer

By default yes for people, organizations and list projections, which are full pulls. Enabling Affinity webhook updates switches the supported schemas to event driven incremental ingestion instead. Calls, emails, meetings and notes also have timestamp based incremental readers, so the picture depends on what you selected.

Do deletes reach Postgres?

Only with webhooks enabled. With them on, Polytomic processes deletes for people, organizations, opportunities, list memberships and notes, and an organization merge deletes the record that was merged away. With them off, nothing signals a deletion at all. Calls, emails and meetings have no webhook delete handling either way, so a periodic full ETL run is still the safety net.

What does enabling webhooks actually involve?

Ticking one box. Polytomic registers its own webhook URL with Affinity, buffers the change events, then refetches the current entity and its field values so the Postgres row is complete rather than a partial patch. It costs some extra Affinity API consumption, and as with any webhook there is a small chance of a missed event.

Why did my sync suddenly take twice as long?

Accepted Answer

Most often because interaction date fields were selected. Those roughly double the API calls and the runtime, since Affinity has to be queried about interactions separately from the records themselves. If you do not need last email or last meeting dates on every row, leaving them off is the cheapest performance win available here.
