Why replicate Attio into BigQuery?

Running ETL into BigQuery puts CRM data in the same place as everything else, and it also gives you a durable history of records that the CRM itself only shows in their current state.

How do Attio attributes map onto BigQuery types?

Compound attributes become STRUCT and ARRAY columns by default, which suits BigQuery well, and there is a JSON mode if you would rather keep them as a single value. Each compound attribute additionally exposes flat subfields, so you can select a scalar last name column rather than unpacking a record. Worth noting on a first load that record identifiers are UUID strings rather than integers, and that an empty single value arrives as NULL while an empty multiselect arrives as an empty array.

Can I report on how deals moved through stages?

Yes, through a derived stage history table rather than by reconstructing it yourself. It carries an active from and active until pair for each stage a deal occupied, which is what you need for time in stage and velocity reporting. Deal models separately expose a stage title history covering up to ten titles. Incremental stage history is best effort, so schedule a periodic full run to close off validity intervals that a webhook may have missed.

Through Attio webhooks rather than a timestamp cursor, because Attio does not expose an updated at field to filter on. Enable webhook updates on the bulk sync and the first run loads everything, after which changes stream in as they happen. Object records, list entries, notes and stage history support this. Meetings, call recordings, transcripts and workspace members are full reads either way, which is usually fine given their volume.
