Where do Intercom conversations land in Attio?

Because Polytomic discovers objects live from your workspace rather than working from a fixed list, a custom object built to hold conversations is a valid sync target with its writable attributes exposed automatically. That keeps conversation records queryable and linkable without flattening dozens of them onto the company. Summary values such as last contact date or open conversation count are better written as attributes on the company itself.

What is worth sending the other way?

The things support cannot see and cannot compute. Plan tier, recurring revenue, renewal date, account owner and health score all live outside the inbox, and having them on the Intercom contact or company changes how a conversation is handled. Because it runs on a schedule rather than being typed in, the values stay current as accounts change, which is the part that makes teams actually trust them.

How are people and companies matched?

On email and domain, which both systems already treat as natural keys, so neither side needs to store the other's record identifiers. Attio gives people and companies dedicated handling for exactly this. If you carry your own identifier in both systems, matching on a unique Attio attribute is more precise still. Matching on a non unique attribute updates every record that matches, so it is worth checking uniqueness before relying on it.

What are the write limits on the Attio side?

Create, update, and create or update are supported; delete is not, so records accumulate rather than being removed. Records can be added to an existing Attio list but not taken out of one. A sync cannot create new lists or new attributes, so the structure needs to exist first, though new select and multiselect options can be added automatically when enabled. Attio also paces writes, so large initial loads are throttled rather than instant.
