Where do the documents land?

In a collection you select, or one Polytomic creates. The interface normally has you pick an existing database and offers create new collection. There is no separate create database step, because MongoDB materializes a database implicitly the first time something is written to it, provided the account has permission.

What does the DealCloud connection require?

Accepted Answer

Your tenant host, in the form mycompany.dealcloud.com, plus one of two credentials: an API key which Polytomic sends as a bearer token, or an OAuth client ID and secret using the data scope. There is no certificate exchange, which makes it one of the quicker sources to stand up.

Which DealCloud entry types can I model?

Accepted Answer

Every entry type your tenant's schema endpoint returns, along with its fields. It is not a fixed catalogue, so the entry types your firm built appear alongside the standard ones without anyone maintaining a mapping for them.

Does the model read everything each run?

Accepted Answer

Entry types carrying the system ModifiedDate field resume from a checkpoint and read forward. Types without it, Attachment being the obvious case, are read in full on every ETL run, which is usually the explanation when a sync takes longer than expected.

Question 5

Would a removed DealCloud entry disappear?

Accepted Answer

You would not, from the MongoDB side. The DealCloud connector emits no delete events, and MongoDB destinations support no delete mode either, so a removed entry simply leaves its document in place. Two independent reasons for the same outcome, so anything depending on removal has to live in your own application.
