What does Polytomic create in MySQL?

The database, if it is missing, and then the destination and staging tables inside it. MySQL treats a database the way other engines treat a schema, so that is the level at which your DealCloud entry types get grouped. Created objects use utf8mb4 with utf8mb4_general_ci, and anything that already exists is left exactly as it is.

What credentials does DealCloud need?

Your tenant host, in the form mycompany.dealcloud.com, plus one of two credentials. Either an API key, which Polytomic sends as a bearer token, or an OAuth client ID and secret using the data scope. There is no certificate exchange involved, which makes it quicker to stand up than most CRM sources.

Which DealCloud entry types become tables?

Accepted Answer

Every entry type your tenant's schema endpoint returns becomes a selectable table, along with its fields. It is not a fixed catalogue, so entry types your firm built appear next to the standard ones without anyone maintaining a mapping for them.

Which entry types can resume from a checkpoint?

Accepted Answer

Only where DealCloud offers nothing to checkpoint against. Entry types carrying the system ModifiedDate field resume from the last checkpoint and read forward. Types without it, Attachment being the obvious case, are read in full on every ETL run, which is usually the explanation when a sync is slower than expected.

How would I know a DealCloud record was removed?

Accepted Answer

No. The connector emits no delete or tombstone event, so an incremental run cannot tell you something was removed in DealCloud. A full snapshot will reveal that a row stopped appearing, and MySQL soft deletes it through the deleted at column by default. Turn on hard delete propagation if you want the row physically gone.
