What do I need to connect DealCloud?

Accepted Answer

Your tenant host, in the form mycompany.dealcloud.com, and one of two credentials. Either an API key, which Polytomic sends as a bearer token, or an OAuth client ID and secret using the data scope. There is no certificate exchange or allowlisting step, which makes it one of the quicker CRM sources to stand up.

Which objects can I sync?

Accepted Answer

Every entry type your tenant's schema endpoint returns becomes a selectable table, along with its fields. This is not a fixed catalogue, so the entry types your firm built appear next to the standard ones without anyone maintaining a mapping on our side.

Does it read everything every time?

Accepted Answer

Only where DealCloud gives it nothing to checkpoint against. Entry types carrying the system ModifiedDate field resume from the last checkpoint and read forward. Types without it, Attachment being the obvious one, are read in full on every ETL run. If a sync is slower than you expect, that is usually the reason.

Do deletes come through?

Accepted Answer

No. The connector emits no delete or tombstone events, so an incremental run cannot tell you something was removed in DealCloud. A full snapshot will show that a row stopped appearing, and what Postgres does about it depends on your write settings, which soft delete by default. If deletion accuracy matters, schedule a periodic full run.

Are custom fields discovered?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Entry types and their fields are read from DealCloud's schema APIs when you configure the sync, so fields your firm added show up on their own. As with any bulk sync, a newly discovered field still has to be enabled on a sync that already exists before it starts writing.
