What does Polytomic create on the MySQL side?

The database if it does not already exist, then the destination and staging tables inside it. A MySQL database plays the role a schema plays in other engines, so this is the level your HubSpot tables get grouped at. Created objects use utf8mb4 with utf8mb4_general_ci, which means notes containing emoji or non-Latin characters survive intact. Existing databases and tables are never altered.

How do HubSpot fields land as MySQL columns?

Text becomes LONGTEXT regardless of how long the property actually is, which keeps the row itself small and avoids pressure on MySQL's roughly 65KB inline row limit on wide CRM objects. Objects and arrays become native JSON. A number with no declared precision becomes DECIMAL(65,30). Booleans become BOOLEAN, which MySQL stores as TINYINT(1).

Can I get deal stage history?

Yes. Contact, company and deal property history each arrive as their own table, one row per change, carrying the object ID, property name, new value, timestamp, source and the user responsible. That is the shape stage duration analysis needs, and it is the main thing ETL gives you that the HubSpot interface will not.

How does the incremental read work?

The first run scans HubSpot's list API in full. After that Polytomic searches on lastmodifieddate, collects the IDs that changed, then batch reads the properties you selected. Consecutive runs deliberately overlap their lookback windows and deduplicate, because HubSpot's search index lags slightly behind its own writes.

Do HubSpot deletions reach MySQL?

Accepted Answer

Not through the incremental path, since the search API only returns records that still exist. Schedule a periodic full resync, which marks the missing rows through the deleted at column, or enable hard delete propagation to remove them outright. There is also a newer feature gated option to include archived HubSpot records that is worth asking about for your account.
