What can the model read from?

A table through the picker, or native MySQL SQL, which is where joins, aggregates and MySQL functions come in. Views are deliberately kept out of the table picker, so if you want to sync a view, reach it through SQL query mode rather than hunting for it in the list.

How do I stop it rescanning every run?

Accepted Answer

Set a monotonically increasing tracking column such as updated_at. Without one, model syncs run differentially: Polytomic reads the model and compares field values against prior state. With one, that comparison engine steps aside entirely and the query filters on advancement of the column instead, which is dramatically cheaper on a busy table.

Which HubSpot objects accept writes?

Contacts, companies, deals, tickets, products, line items, activities, services and custom objects, according to what your account exposes. Static lists work as destinations where list support is enabled, dynamic lists do not, and invoices are read only.

Can Polytomic create a HubSpot property?

Accepted Answer

No. Create it in HubSpot, refresh the connection schema, then map to it. Adding a column in MySQL does not cause the CRM side to follow along, which is the surprise people hit most often when extending a sync that already works.

Question 5

What permissions does the connection need?

Accepted Answer

Only SELECT. A user created with a grant of SELECT on your database is enough, and Polytomic discovers schemas, tables and views through INFORMATION_SCHEMA. If your model uses custom SQL, that same user needs SELECT on every object the query touches, which is easy to miss when a join reaches into a second database.
