How do I build the model?

Start with a database and collection, then choose one of three approaches: field select over the collection, a MongoDB find query, or an aggregation pipeline. Queries and pipelines are written in MongoDB Extended JSON v2, and they are filters and pipelines against the selected collection rather than arbitrary shell commands.

Can I avoid rescanning the collection each run?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes, and the limitation is worth knowing before you design the model. Tracking fields are supported only on plain collection field select models. They are not available for find query, aggregation pipeline or view models. Where you can use one, pick a monotonically increasing field such as updated_at: the first run scans fully and later runs filter by the tracked range. Tracking field reads do not detect deletes.

Which HubSpot objects can a MongoDB model write to?

Accepted Answer

Contacts, companies, deals, tickets, products, line items, activities, services and custom objects, according to what your account exposes. Static lists work as destinations where list support is enabled, dynamic lists do not, and invoices are read only.

What does the MongoDB user need?

Accepted Answer

A read only account that can list databases and collections, run find, and run aggregate, plus read anything a lookup stage reaches into. The built in read role on each source database is the least privilege starting point, and readAnyDatabase is the simpler cluster wide option. Avoid write stages such as out or merge in a source pipeline.

Can the sync create a HubSpot property?

Accepted Answer

No. Create it in HubSpot, refresh the connection schema, then map to it. A new field appearing in your documents does not cause the CRM side to follow, which matters more here than with a relational source because MongoDB documents gain fields so easily.
