How do Salesforce numbers and currency land?

Typed integers and floats keep their natural MySQL types. The first ETL run reads everything you selected. After that Polytomic checkpoints on SystemModstamp, or CreatedDate for history objects, with a ten minute lookback to absorb Salesforce's eventual consistency. Any object without a usable unique identifier and change timestamp falls back to a full read on every run.

Do recycle bin records come across?

Yes, which is unusual for a SaaS source. Reads go through queryAll so records sitting in the recycle bin come back with IsDeleted set, and the MySQL row is retained and flagged rather than dropped, which keeps historical joins resolvable. Enable hard delete propagation if you would rather they were physically removed.

Will this exhaust our Salesforce API limit?

No, because Polytomic caps itself. It tracks calls over a rolling twenty four hours, shows consumption per sync, and pauses Salesforce work once the cap is reached. The default sits at seventy five percent of the allowance your org reports and you can lower it. Schema discovery, Tooling API objects and formula catch up runs all draw on that same budget.

What happens to formula fields?

They arrive as ordinary MySQL columns holding materialized values. The subtlety is that a formula's value can change without SystemModstamp moving, because the change happened in a field it depends on. Formulas Polytomic can parse are recalculated incrementally, and the rest are flagged as slow fields in the interface and need a periodic full run to catch up.
