How does the incremental read work?

Do deleted Salesforce records show up?

Yes, which is unusual for a SaaS source. Reads go through queryAll, so records sitting in the recycle bin come back with IsDeleted set. The Postgres row is kept and flagged rather than dropped, with deletion metadata recorded alongside it, which means historical joins still resolve. If you would rather they were physically gone, enable hard delete propagation on the sync.

Will this eat our Salesforce API limit?

Polytomic tracks calls over a rolling twenty four hours, shows consumption per sync, and enforces a cap that pauses Salesforce work once reached. The default sits at seventy five percent of the allowance your org reports, and you can lower it. Schema discovery, Tooling API objects and formula catch up runs all draw on the same budget, so a wide ETL sync costs meaningfully more than a narrow one.

What happens to formula and rollup fields?

They arrive as ordinary Postgres columns holding materialized values, numeric, currency, date and text alike. The catch is that a formula's value can change without SystemModstamp moving, because the change happened in a field it depends on. Formulas Polytomic can parse are recalculated incrementally. The rest are marked as slow fields in the interface and need a periodic full run to catch up.

Does multi-currency work?

Currency fields come across as numbers. If your formulas convert between currencies, switch on multi-currency source field support and Polytomic reads your active conversion rates, caching them for around ten minutes, so base currency calculations match what Salesforce shows. Without it, converted formula values can disagree with the record.
