On top of that sit nineteen prebuilt reports: campaign, ad group and ad reports at daily, hourly and lifetime grain, audience reports split by age and gender, country, language or platform, and GMV country reports. How does incremental sync work for TikTok Ads?

It depends on the object. Ads and Smart Plus ads use TikTok's modified after filter and save their place at the start of each run. Other entities are read as full snapshots, because their APIs do not offer a usable modified filter. Daily and hourly reports save their place on the time dimension and reread the last three days by default to catch retroactive attribution. Lifetime reports are always full reads. The default backfill is one year.

What permissions does the TikTok Ads connector need?

At least one advertiser has to be selected, and the scopes are granular. Account information, ads and ad groups and campaigns, audiences, creatives, Smart Plus, GMV Max and reporting each need their own read permission. The part that catches people out is that changing the scopes on the app does not update tokens that already exist, so the advertiser has to authorise again. Video and image endpoints only expose the 10,000 most recently changed items.

Does TikTok Ads sync capture deletes?

Accepted Answer

No. There is no delete or tombstone stream for this connector, so treat it as a snapshot source rather than change capture. Incremental ad reads may show status values that TikTok returns for removed objects, but Polytomic does not turn those into delete events. Full entity reads can reveal that something has gone, and report rows are restated inside the lookback window rather than removed, so plan on periodic full reads if reconciliation matters.
