What happens when an Affinity record is deleted?

The document stays. MongoDB destinations support no delete mode at all, so nothing removes it. This is worth designing around from the start: either carry a status field the sync can set, or reconcile in your application. It is the single largest behavioural difference between this ETL flow and writing the same data into a relational destination.

What can I model from Affinity?

People and organizations, every person, organization and opportunity list as its own source, notes, and calls, emails and meetings. There is deliberately no standalone opportunity source, so opportunities arrive through their lists rather than on their own.

Does the Affinity side read everything each run?

Accepted Answer

By default yes for people, organizations and list projections. Enabling Affinity webhook updates switches the supported schemas to event driven incremental ingestion instead, and calls, emails, meetings and notes have timestamp based incremental readers of their own.

Why did my sync suddenly take twice as long?

Accepted Answer

Almost always because interaction date fields were selected. Those roughly double both the API calls and the runtime, since Affinity has to be queried about interactions separately from the records themselves. Leaving off last email and last meeting dates is the cheapest fix available.

What write modes can I use?

Accepted Answer

Create, Update, and Update or Create. Each model row becomes one BSON document, updates set only the fields you mapped, and unmapped fields on an existing document are left untouched. That makes it safe to point this at a collection your application also writes to.
