Yes, and it handles the awkward case for you. If a prospect selected for a sequence does not exist in Outreach yet, it gets created first and then added, so you do not need a separate sync to seed people before enrolling them. That makes it practical to model a list, for example accounts showing buying signals, and have the right people enrolled automatically as they qualify.

How does Polytomic decide which Outreach prospect to update?

You map a field from your Snowflake model to an identity field on the Outreach object, usually email for prospects or a domain or external ID for accounts. Polytomic looks up the destination on that pair, treats a match as an existing record to update, and treats anything unmatched as new. Exact equality is the default. Create, update, and update or create modes all need an identity mapping in place.

What happens if a record fails to write to Outreach?

The rest of the run carries on. A record level failure is isolated and logged rather than stopping the sync, and it appears in Sync History with the identity value and the error, usually downloadable. Transient problems are retried automatically. For failures that need a fix, you can retry records manually from History, or turn on the setting that retries failed records on the next run so they clear themselves once the underlying issue is sorted.
