Amplitude

Polytomic connects Amplitude to your data warehouse, databases, and SaaS tools for ETL and reverse ETL. Replicate raw events into your data warehouse and other systems, and push user properties, group properties, and events from your data warehouse back into Amplitude, without writing code.

Raw event export

Full event detail from the export API, not pre-aggregated report output.

Read and write Amplitude

Pull events out, and push user, group, and event data back in.

Adaptive export windows

Read windows shrink automatically when a period returns too much data.

What you can sync

Move data between Amplitude and your data warehouse, databases, and SaaS tools, reading raw events out and writing profiles and events back in.

From Amplitude

Raw events from the Amplitude export API
Event, user, and group property bags as JSON
Hour granular read windows with automatic sizing
Incremental reads with a reporting delay rewind

To Amplitude

User profiles and properties, created and updated
Group properties, created and updated
Events, created in batches
Matching on user ID or device ID
Arbitrary custom properties through JSON field bags

How it works

Connect Amplitude with an API key and secret and sync in either direction. Pull raw events into your data warehouse so funnels and cohorts can be defined on your own terms, and push billing, plan, and CRM attributes back onto user and group profiles so Amplitude can segment on data it could not otherwise see.

Event exports are read in hour granular windows that adapt to your volume. Polytomic starts with wide windows and halves them whenever a period returns too much data, down to a single hour, which keeps large historical backfills moving rather than failing.

  • Connect with your Amplitude API key and secret key
  • Read raw events through the export API
  • Start wide and shrink read windows automatically on large periods
  • Rewind the cursor on each run to absorb Amplitude reporting delay
  • Write user profiles, group properties, and events
  • Monitor sync health, record volume, and failures from one interface

How to set up

Polytomic authenticates to Amplitude with an API key and secret key from your project. Reads use those credentials directly against the export API, and writes send the API key with each batch.

How to get connected
  1. 1In Amplitude, find your project API key and secret key
  2. 2In Polytomic, navigate to Connections, then Add Connection, then Amplitude
  3. 3Enter the API key and secret key
  4. 4Test the connection
  5. 5Select events as a source, or create a sync targeting users, groups, or events
  6. 6Click Save

See the documentation for full setup details.
