Redshift

Polytomic connects Amazon Redshift to your data warehouse, databases, and SaaS tools for analytics ETL and reverse ETL. Load data into Redshift from over a hundred sources, and sync modelled results out to Salesforce, HubSpot, and more, without writing code.

Redshift logo

Full bidirectional ETL

Sync in both directions between Redshift and your systems.

Optimized for scale

Efficient operations minimize Redshift cluster load.

Staged COPY loads

Data is staged in your S3 bucket and loaded with Redshift COPY.

Example workflows

Load CRM, billing, and product data into Redshift

What you can sync

Move data between Amazon Redshift and your data warehouse, databases, and SaaS tools, in both directions.

From Redshift

Tables and views across schemas
Custom SQL as a model source
Incremental reads on a tracking field
SSH tunnel for private clusters

To Redshift

Tables, created and migrated automatically
Create, update, upsert, replace, and append
Staged loading through your own S3 bucket
Incremental merge keyed on the primary key

How it works

Connect Redshift and sync in both directions. Read tables and views into other systems, or load data into Redshift from over a hundred sources with tables created and columns migrated automatically as your source schemas change.

Loads follow the pattern Redshift is built for. Polytomic stages the data as files in your S3 bucket, runs COPY into a staging table, merges from there into the destination, and cleans up the staged files afterwards.

  • Connect Redshift directly or over an SSH tunnel
  • Read tables and views, or write custom SQL as a model source
  • Sync incrementally using a tracking field such as updated_at
  • Loads staged in your S3 bucket and applied with COPY
  • Write with create, update, upsert, replace, and append modes
  • Monitor sync health, record volume, and failures from one interface

How to set up

Supply the cluster endpoint, database, and credentials, plus an S3 bucket and AWS credentials for staging if you intend to write. An SSH tunnel is available for clusters that are not publicly reachable.

How to get connected
  1. 1Create a Redshift user for Polytomic with the permissions it needs
  2. 2Prepare an S3 staging bucket in the same region and grant Redshift access
  3. 3In Polytomic, navigate to Connections, then Add Connection, then Redshift
  4. 4Enter cluster details, credentials, and staging configuration
  5. 5Test the connection
  6. 6Select tables or build a model, set a schedule, and click Save

See the documentation for full setup details.
