What you can sync

Chameleon is supported as a destination. Build a model on your data warehouse, database, or SaaS tools and write the result onto Chameleon user and company profiles.

From your sources

Data warehouses including Snowflake, BigQuery, and Databricks
Databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB
SaaS tools including Salesforce, HubSpot, and Stripe
Spreadsheets, cloud storage, and custom APIs

To Chameleon

User profiles, created and updated
Company profiles, created and updated
Custom properties on both profiles and companies
Matching on Chameleon ID, UID, or email
Batched writes of up to a hundred records per request

How it works

Build a model on your data warehouse, database, or SaaS tools, map an identity, and write whatever attributes you want onto Chameleon user or company profiles. This is reverse ETL for product adoption: the segments you derive in your data warehouse become targeting criteria for tours, surveys, and in product messaging.

Chameleon knows what users do in the product. What it cannot know is what they pay, which plan they are on, or how their account is trending. Syncing those attributes is what lets you target an onboarding flow at exactly the accounts that need it.

  • Connect Chameleon with your account secret token
  • Map an identity on user profiles or companies
  • Write standard and custom properties from your model
  • Choose create, update, or update or create
  • Write in batches of up to a hundred records
  • Monitor sync health, record volume, and failures from one interface

How to set up

Polytomic authenticates to Chameleon with your account secret, sent as a request header, and writes through Chameleon's v3 batch endpoints. Existing properties are discovered from your account so they appear as mappable fields.

How to get connected
  1. 1In Chameleon, find your account secret token
  2. 2In Polytomic, navigate to Connections, then Add Connection, then Chameleon
  3. 3Paste the account secret
  4. 4Test the connection
  5. 5Create a sync targeting user profiles or companies
  6. 6Map your identity and properties, then click Save

See the documentation for full setup details.
