Dittofeed

Polytomic connects your data warehouse, databases, and SaaS tools to Dittofeed for reverse ETL. Sync user traits and events from your data warehouse and other systems into Dittofeed, including self hosted instances, so messaging journeys run on current data, without writing code.

Self hosted supported

Point the connection at your own Dittofeed instance URL, not just cloud.

Segment compatible batch API

Identify and track calls through Dittofeed's public batch endpoint.

Arbitrary traits and properties

Any attributes from your model flow through without predefining them.

Example workflows

Sync user traits from your data warehouse into Dittofeed

What you can sync

Dittofeed is supported as a destination. Build a model on your data warehouse, database, or SaaS tools and write user traits and events into Dittofeed.

To Dittofeed

Users, created and updated through identify calls
Events, appended through track calls
Matching on user ID or anonymous ID
Arbitrary traits, properties, and context

How it works

Build a model on your data warehouse, database, or SaaS tools and write it into Dittofeed. This is reverse ETL for messaging: the traits and events your journeys branch on come from the systems that own them rather than from instrumentation you have to ship code to change.

Because Dittofeed is open source and often self hosted, the connection takes your own instance URL rather than assuming a hosted endpoint. Writes go through its Segment compatible batch API as identify and track calls.

  • Connect with your Dittofeed instance URL and write key
  • Point at Dittofeed cloud or your own self hosted deployment
  • Write users with arbitrary traits through identify calls
  • Send events with arbitrary properties through track calls
  • Match on user ID or anonymous ID
  • Monitor sync health, record volume, and failures from one interface

How to set up

Polytomic writes to Dittofeed's public batch API, so the connection needs the URL of your Dittofeed instance and a write key. If you omit the scheme, HTTPS is assumed. This works equally for Dittofeed cloud and a deployment you host yourself.

How to get connected
  1. 1In Dittofeed, generate a write key
  2. 2Note your Dittofeed instance URL, cloud or self hosted
  3. 3In Polytomic, navigate to Connections, then Add Connection, then Dittofeed
  4. 4Enter the instance URL and write key
  5. 5Test the connection
  6. 6Create a sync targeting users or events and click Save
