Google Slides

Polytomic connects Google Slides to your data warehouse, databases, and other tools for ETL. Sync every presentation in a Drive folder into your data warehouse without writing code.

Every presentation in a folder

Point Polytomic at a Drive folder, including Shared Drives, and every presentation inside syncs automatically.

Full slide content as data

Each presentation's slides, layouts, and master pages come through as structured data, not just a link to the file.

API limits respected

Requests to the Slides and Drive APIs are paced automatically, so large folders sync without hitting Google's limits.

Example workflows

Turn a shared slide library into warehouse tables for reporting

What you can sync

Google Slides reads presentation content and metadata from a Drive folder you choose. Send it to your data warehouse, a database, or other systems already connected to Polytomic.

From Google Slides

Presentation title, locale, and revision details
Full content of every slide
Slide layouts and master templates
Drive file metadata including modified time and link

How it works

Connect your Google account, or a service account, then choose a Drive folder with the built-in picker. Polytomic reads every presentation in that folder into your data warehouse, databases, or other tools. Turn on subfolders and it scans those too.

Each sync reads the complete folder again. This connector does not support incremental reads for Google Slides. Plan your sync schedule around how many presentations the folder holds. Requests to the Slides and Drive APIs are paced to stay within Google's limits.

  • Every presentation in the chosen folder discovered automatically
  • Subfolders included automatically when you turn that option on
  • Full slide, layout, and master content synced as structured data
  • Works with Shared Drives as well as personal Drive folders
  • Requests paced automatically to stay within Google's API limits
  • Presentation title, locale, revision ID, and Drive metadata included

How to set up

Google Slides supports two ways to connect: authorize your Google account, or upload a service account key for access that is not tied to one person. Either way, you choose a Drive folder before saving the connection.

How to get connected
  1. 1In Polytomic, go to Connections, click Add connection, and select Google Slides
  2. 2Choose an Authentication method, then connect your Google account or upload a Service account key
  3. 3Select the Drive folder for this connection, choose whether to include subfolders, then click Save
