Lob

Polytomic connects your data warehouse, databases, and SaaS tools to Lob for direct mail reverse ETL. Trigger postcards and letters from a segment defined in your data warehouse, with recipient details assembled from your own data, without writing code.

Mail driven by your models

The audience is a SQL query, not a list someone exports and uploads.

Personalized from your data

Map name, address, and merge fields straight from warehouse columns.

Runs on a schedule

New qualifying records get mail without anyone assembling a batch.

Example workflows

Send win back mail to churned accounts identified in your data warehouse

What you can sync

Lob is supported as a destination. Push recipients and mail details from your data warehouse, databases, and SaaS tools into Lob to trigger physical mail.

From your sources

Data warehouses including Snowflake, BigQuery, and Databricks
Databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL
CRMs including Salesforce and HubSpot
Billing systems including Stripe and Chargebee

To Lob

Recipient names and postal addresses
Merge fields that populate your mail templates
Template selection per record
Metadata for tracking a piece back to its source record

How it works

Define who should receive mail as a model over your data warehouse, then map the columns Lob needs onto a mail send. Names, addresses, and any merge fields your template uses come straight from the model, so a physical mail piece is produced from the same segment logic you use everywhere else.

Because this is a write destination, treat it with more care than a typical sync. Every record that reaches Lob costs real money to print and post, so scope the model deliberately and preview before enabling.

  • Connect Lob as a destination
  • Build a model that returns exactly who should receive mail
  • Map name and address columns onto the recipient
  • Map merge fields your template expects
  • Preview the model output before enabling the sync
  • Monitor sync health, record volume, and failures from one interface

How to set up

Lob is a write destination in Polytomic. Once connected you build a model over your data warehouse or database and map its columns onto recipient and template fields.

How to get connected
  1. 1In Lob, obtain an API key and note whether it is a test or live key
  2. 2In Polytomic, navigate to Connections, then Add Connection, then Lob
  3. 3Paste the key and test the connection
  4. 4Build a model returning your intended recipients
  5. 5Map name, address, and merge fields, then preview the output
  6. 6Start with a narrow segment, set a schedule, and click Save

See the documentation for full setup details.
