Example workflows

Archive company email into your data warehouse for compliance and search

What you can sync

Mailbox messages and folders sync from Outlook into your data warehouse, databases, or other connected tools.

Message attachments with direct content links

Mail folders including their nested folder hierarchy
Internet message headers and conversation threading

How it works

Connect a Microsoft account with OAuth to read your own mailbox, or use client credentials to read mailboxes across your organization. Polytomic reads messages and their folder structure into your data warehouse, database, or other connected tools.

Incremental syncs read only messages changed since the last run, so ongoing syncs stay fast even in large mailboxes. Requests pace themselves under Microsoft Graph's per mailbox rate limit, so a busy sync will not get throttled.

  • Read your own mailbox or add shared mailboxes with OAuth
  • Connect with client credentials to read many mailboxes at once
  • Sync only messages changed since the last run
  • Read message attachments with direct authenticated content links
  • Traverse each mailbox's folder hierarchy including nested folders
  • Stay under Microsoft Graph's per mailbox rate limit automatically

How to set up

Outlook connects with Microsoft OAuth or with client credentials. OAuth reads the signed in user's mailbox plus any shared mailboxes typed in during setup. Client credentials use an Azure app registration granted admin consent, then a mailbox picker chooses which mailboxes across the organization to read.

How to get connected
