Shippo

Polytomic connects Shippo to your data warehouse, databases, and SaaS tools for shipping ETL. Replicate shipments, parcels, and transactions into your data warehouse and other systems so shipping cost and carrier performance can be analyzed against orders, without writing code.

Transactions with cost

Purchased labels with their cost, carrier, and tracking number.

Rates on each shipment

The rate options quoted, so you can see what was not chosen.

Parcel dimensions

What you can sync

Shippo is supported as a source. Read shipping data, then land it in your data warehouse, databases, or SaaS tools.

From Shippo

Shipments with their quoted rates
Transactions with cost, label, and tracking details
Parcels with dimensions and weight
Tracking number, status, and carrier URL on transactions

How it works

Connect Shippo and Polytomic reads three objects into your data warehouse: shipments, transactions, and parcels. Transactions are the ones carrying cost, since they represent labels actually purchased.

Rates arrive nested on each shipment, meaning you can see every option that was quoted rather than only the one chosen. That is what lets you check retrospectively whether cheaper carriers were available on routes you ship regularly.

  • Connect Shippo with a live API token
  • Read shipments along with their quoted rates
  • Read transactions with cost, label, and tracking details
  • Read parcels with dimensions and weight
  • Join shipping cost back to orders in your data warehouse
  • Monitor sync health, record volume, and failures from one interface

How to set up

Authentication is a Shippo API token, and a live token rather than a test one is required for real data. Once connected, the shipment, transaction, and parcel objects appear for selection.

How to get connected
  1. 1In Shippo, obtain a live API token
  2. 2In Polytomic, navigate to Connections, then Add Connection, then Shippo
  3. 3Paste the token
  4. 4Test the connection
  5. 5Select shipments, transactions, and parcels
  6. 6Choose a destination, set a schedule, and click Save

See the documentation for full setup details.
