Standard Metrics

Polytomic connects Standard Metrics to your data warehouse, databases, and SaaS tools for portfolio reporting ETL. Replicate portfolio companies, metrics, documents, budgets, and notes into your data warehouse and other systems so fund reporting can be modeled on your own terms, without writing code.

What you can sync

Standard Metrics is supported as a source. Read portfolio companies, metrics, and supporting records, then land them in your data warehouse, databases, or SaaS tools.

From Standard Metrics

Companies with sector, status, location, and fund linkage
Metrics as one row per company, category, and date
Metric options with category, type, and period semantics
Company custom columns discovered from your configuration

How it works

Connect Standard Metrics with a client ID and secret and choose the objects you want. Polytomic reads your portfolio data into your data warehouse, databases, or SaaS tools, so fund reporting and benchmarking can be built with SQL rather than assembled from exports.

Metrics arrive in long form, one row per company, category, and observation date, with the cadence carried on each row. That shape is deliberately flexible: you pivot it into whatever period grid your reporting needs rather than being locked into a fixed layout.

  • Connect with a Standard Metrics client ID and secret
  • Read companies, metrics, metric options, documents, budgets, notes, and users
  • Pick up the custom columns your firm configured on companies
  • Sync metrics and documents incrementally on their update timestamps
  • Get long form metric rows with currency, cadence, and FX detail
  • Monitor sync health, record volume, and failures from one interface

How to set up

Polytomic authenticates using OAuth client credentials, so you supply a client ID and secret rather than going through an interactive consent screen. Polytomic exchanges those for an access token and refreshes it automatically.

How to get connected
  1. 1In Standard Metrics, obtain an API client ID and client secret
  2. 2In Polytomic, navigate to Connections, then Add Connection, then Standard Metrics
  3. 3Enter the client ID and client secret
  4. 4Test the connection
  5. 5Select the objects you want to sync
  6. 6Click Save

See the documentation for full setup details.
