Twilio SendGrid

Polytomic connects your data warehouse, databases, and SaaS tools to Twilio SendGrid for email reverse ETL. Push marketing contacts and their properties from your data warehouse and other systems into SendGrid lists, so email segmentation runs on real product and billing data, without writing code.

Upsert and add to a list

Targeting a list both upserts the contact and adds it to that list.

Creates lists and fields

New lists and custom contact fields created as your model needs them.

Large import batches

Up to a million contacts per import, handled asynchronously.

Example workflows

Build audience lists from a data warehouse segment

What you can sync

Twilio SendGrid is supported as a destination. Push marketing contacts from your data warehouse, databases, and SaaS tools into SendGrid and its lists.

To Twilio SendGrid

Marketing contacts, upserted
Existing lists, or new lists Polytomic creates
Custom contact fields, created as needed
List membership added alongside the contact upsert

How it works

Build the contact view in your data warehouse, where product usage, billing, and CRM data already sit together, then push it into SendGrid so email segmentation can run on those properties rather than on whatever a signup form captured.

Targeting a list does two things at once: it upserts the contact and adds it to that list. So a single sync both keeps contact properties current and maintains membership of the audience you defined in SQL.

  • Connect SendGrid with a full access API key
  • Build a model producing one row per contact
  • Choose an existing list or have Polytomic create one
  • Map email plus the contact properties you want
  • Custom contact fields are created if they do not exist
  • Monitor sync health, record volume, and failures from one interface

How to set up

Authentication is a SendGrid API key, and a full access key is recommended since Polytomic needs to read list and field metadata as well as write contacts. Once connected, your existing lists appear as destinations.

How to get connected
  1. 1In SendGrid, create a full access API key
  2. 2In Polytomic, navigate to Connections, then Add Connection, then Twilio SendGrid
  3. 3Paste the key and test the connection
  4. 4Build a model returning one row per contact
  5. 5Select an existing list or create a new one as the destination
  6. 6Map email and your property fields, set a schedule, and click Save

See the documentation for full setup details.
