Zendesk Chat

Polytomic connects Zendesk Chat to your data warehouse, databases, and SaaS tools for support ETL. Replicate chat records with their agent, department, and outcome detail into your data warehouse and other systems so live chat history can be reported alongside the rest of your support data, without writing code.

What you can sync

Zendesk Chat is supported as a source. Read chat history incrementally and land it in your data warehouse, databases, or SaaS tools.

Chats from Zendesk's incremental chat endpoint
Embedded agent and department detail on each chat
Embedded goal related fields
Checkpointed resumption on Zendesk's end time and end ID

How it works

Connect Zendesk Chat with OAuth and your Zendesk subdomain, and Polytomic reads your chat history into your data warehouse, databases, or SaaS tools. Chat becomes reportable next to tickets, revenue, and product usage rather than only inside Zendesk's own dashboards.

Zendesk provides a purpose built incremental endpoint for chats, which Polytomic uses. Each sync checkpoints on the end time and ID that Zendesk returns and resumes from exactly there, so high chat volumes move efficiently without rescanning history.

  • Connect Zendesk Chat with OAuth and your subdomain
  • Read chats from Zendesk's incremental endpoint
  • Page up to a thousand chats per request
  • Checkpoint on end time and end ID for precise resumption
  • Get embedded agent, department, and goal fields on each chat
  • Monitor sync health, record volume, and failures from one interface

How to set up

Polytomic connects to Zendesk Chat using a Chat specific OAuth flow, requesting read access. You supply your Zendesk subdomain as part of the connection so the authorization is routed to the right account.

How to get connected
  1. 1In Polytomic, navigate to Connections, then Add Connection, then Zendesk Chat
  2. 2Enter your Zendesk subdomain
  3. 3Click Connect and authorize with a Zendesk account that has Chat access
  4. 4Grant read access
  5. 5Test the connection
  6. 6Select chats and click Save
